WESTBOROUGH- Peter K. Haines, 70, of Westborough, passed away on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at the Marlborough Hills Healthcare Center. He was the husband of Linda A. (McCarthy) Haines.
Born in North Tonawanda, NY, he was the son of the late Robert and Vera (Naeher) Haines. He was a graduate of Kenmore West High School in Kenmore, NY and of Delhi University in New York. He also served with the United States Army Reserves for six years.
Peter was employed in the credit/collections department for several area companies prior to his retirement.
He attended St. Luke the Evangelist Church, was a member of WASA, played in the over 35 Men’s Softball League and was a former Pop Warner Football coach and Babe Ruth Coach.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Robert D. Haines and his wife, Christie, of Agawam and Jeffrey T. Haines and his wife, Maria, of Derry, NH; one sister, Mary Ann Benz and her husband, Dennis, of Loganville, GA and five grandchildren, Ryan, Meghan, Mason, Payton and Charlotte.
He was the brother of the late Mark R. Haines.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 1, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery.
Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Tuesday, March 31, from 4 to 7 P.M.
