Robert A. Dallaire

WESTBOROUGH- Robert (Bob) Alfred Dallaire, 73, passed unexpectedly on February 16th, 2012.  He was the son of the late Alfred & Margaret Dallaire of Newton MA. Bob was predeceased by his loving wife Nancy Horn Dallaire. He leaves behind his three beloved children, Thomas R. Dallaire & Wife Lisa of Newton, Anne M. Wilson & husband Jay of Monson MA, Katherine J. Carmel & husband Chris of Framingham MA; his loving sister & brother in-law Janet & Richard Corrigan & brother and sister in law Eugene & Nancy Dallaire and seven adored grandchildren, Andrea, Sarah & Heather Wilson, Keri-Ann & Christopher Carmel, & Elizabeth & Robert Dallaire and much loved nieces and nephews. A memorial service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held at the Congregational Church of Westborough, West Main St, Westborough MA, on Saturday, February 25th, at 11:00 AM.

Bob grew up in Newtonville, MA and after graduating from Our Lady’s High School in 1956 he joined the U.S. Marine Corps.  After serving his active duty time in the Corp he attended Wentworth Institute of Technology and became a Master Electrician.  For over 45 years Bob worked for Mass. Electric Construction Company, one of the U.S.’s largest and most respected electrical contractors.  He skillfully led electrical construction crews in the construction of complex electrical systems for scores of commercial offices, industrial plants, power plants, and transportation projects throughout eastern Massachusetts, projects that added billions of dollars to the capital wealth of the region. In an industry wrought with hazard, He had an impeccable safety record and always put the safety of his crews as priority one.  He was a humble, dependable man who led by example and asked no more of others than he was willing to give of himself.

He was a proud member of the Walker Meadow Community and provided his leadership and commitment to help build and establish a village where neighbors genuinely care and watch out for one another.

After retirement Bob enjoyed many adventures and travels with his wife, Nancy, of 49 years, but most of all, he enjoyed every moment with his family.  He fondly referred to himself as the bus driver, ever present at all affairs of the family and always quite punctual!  He will be well remembered for his dry sense of humor, his raucous laughter and his generous heart.  His gentle, quiet way and devout support of his children and grandchildren will be sorely missed.

We love you Daddy…Grandpa.  We have faith that you have found Mom in heaven and that together you will watch over us and give us the strength to endure losing you both too soon.
