Robert G. DeArmond, Jr., 82, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at the UMass Memorial Hospital in Worcester. He is survived by his loving wife and soulmate of 62 years, Mary Lou (Birmingham) DeArmond.
Born in Milford, he was the son of the late Robert and Mildred (Prince) DeArmond. He was raised and educated in Westborough and was a 1957 graduate of Westborough High School.
From 1960 to 1965 he served on the Westborough Police Department. Following serving on the police department he operated his own construction company then went on to become the Inspector for the Town of Westborough, Department of Public Works.
He was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, was a volunteer at the Westborough Food Pantry, enjoyed hunting and fishing especially at Cuttyhunk.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two children, Robert G. DeArmond, III, and his wife, Carrie, of Westborough, Sherrie A. Fryer and her husband, Robert, of Laconia, NH; a son-in-law, Thomas L. Wagner of Westborough and five grandchildren, Madeline L. Fryer, Robert G. DeArmond, IV, Sydney A. DeArmond, Jordan B. DeArmond and Murphy D. DeArmond.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Lisa A. Wagner and a sister, Marcia DeArmond.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 13, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. Luke’s Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
