WESTBOROUGH- Ronald C. Lloyd, 68, of Westborough, passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at the Tufts New England Medical Center in Boston of heart failure. He was the husband of Eileen C. (Johnson) Lloyd.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of the late Clifford and Mabel (Bondeson) Lloyd. He was a 1961 graduate of East Leyden High School in Franklin Park, Illinois and graduated from Milton College in Milton, Wisconsin with a degree in mathematics.

During the Vietnam Era, he served with the United States Army at Fort Carson, Colorado.

Ron was employed as a project manager for EMC for many years, and previously worked for Data General, as well.

Ron loved to sing and was a member of the Tanglewood Festival Chorus for almost 20 years. He also sang with the Assabet Valley Mastersingers, Chambersingers and with the First Congregational Church choir in Shrewsbury.
He was an avid Cubs and Bears fan, although he was known to follow the Patriots with much interest. His sense of humor was well-known and knew no bounds.

After his retirement, he volunteered for SHINE (Serving Health Insurance Needs of Elders), and for RE-SEED, volunteering with teachers in math and science working with middle school students in Ashland, MA.

In addition to his wife he is survived by two daughters, Hilary L. Cespedes and her husband, Asael, of Lawrence and Erin H. Bosanquet and her husband, Ben, of Plymouth; two sisters, Susan Dirkx and her husband, Casey, of Harvard, Illinois and Kathleen Personius and her husband, Wayne, of Florida; two brothers, Bruce Lloyd and his wife, Janice, of Villa Park, Illinois and Gregory Lloyd of Palatine, Illinois and three adored grandchildren, Asael, Jr., William and Julian Cespedes.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 25 at 1:00 pm at the First Congregational Church of Shrewsbury, 19 Church Rd., Shrewsbury, MA.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Assabet Valley Mastersingers Scholarship Fund, PO Box 911 Northborough, MA, 01532.
