WESTBOROUGH- Roy K. Millward, 89, of Westborough, passed away on Monday, May 14, 2012 at the UMass/Memorial Healthcare- Memorial Hospital in Worcester. He was the husband of Rita R. (Finnegan) Millward.
Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late William and Annie (Weblin) Millward and was educated in Auburn schools.
During WW II he served with the United States Navy where he fought in the big battles of WW II. He was wounded in action and received a Purple Heart.
Mr. Millward was employed as an assistant physical therapist at the VA Hospital’s in West Roxbury, Jamaica Plain and Worcester prior to his retirement.
He was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, a member of the D.A.V. and AARP. He was an avid sports fan enjoying the Boston Bruins, Red Sox and Celtics.
In addition to his wife he is survived by one niece, Cheryl Archembeault of Auburn. He was the brother of the late Richard S. Millward.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 19, at 10:00 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
A calling hour will be held on Saturday from 8:30 A.M. to 9:30 A.M. prior to the funeral Mass at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough.
