Russell E. Atchue, Jr., 73, of Westborough, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, January 12, 2025, at home.
Born in Worcester, he was the son of the late Russell and Frances (Bombard) Atchue. He was raised and educated in Westborough and was a graduate of Westborough High School.
In the mid 1970’s he served with the Army National Guard attaining the rank of Sergeant.
Russell was employed as a meatcutter for many years at Iandolis Supermarket prior to his retirement.
He enjoyed scratch tickets and playing Keno. He also enjoyed collecting baseball cards, NASCAR and meeting his former Iandolis co-workers for dinner.
Russell is survived by two brothers, Bruce J. Atchue and his wife, Joan, of Westborough and James F. Atchue, one sister, Debra A. Curtis and her fiancé, Bill Lockhart, of Westborough and many nieces and nephews.
His funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 18, at 10:30 A.M. in the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, N. Grafton.
A calling period will precede the funeral from 9 to 10:30 A.M. at the funeral home.
