Sean Richard Horrigan, 58, passed away unexpectedly in York, Maine on September 25, 2024, after a suffering a heart attack.
Sean was born on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17, 1966, to Paul and Patricia Horrigan and grew up in Westborough, Massachusetts. After graduating from St. Peter Marian High School, he attended Worcester State College where he was a member of the hockey team. Sean’s entrepreneurial spirit saw him pursue many exciting ventures that highlighted his love of travel and human connection. He spent time as a ferry captain in Boston, Cape Cod and the Caribbean, as a conducktor with the Boston Duck Boats, and most recently as a successful businessman in the marketing and transportation industries. In his free time, Sean coached his children’s youth sports teams, explored the ocean on various sized boats, and celebrated life events with his family and friends.
Sean, also known as Tex, was a hardworking father, beloved family member and cherished York community member. Sean made lifelong friends in every room that he entered, and had a special ability to make you feel loved and supported in every situation. He will be remembered for his relaxed, kind demeanor and genuine care for others. He will be dearly missed by the many he touched.
Sean is survived by three beautiful children: Julia Chace Horrigan, 24, Owen Timothy Horrigan, 20 Luke Richard Horrigan, 14, and their mother, Rebecca Malatesta Horrigan. He is also survived by his parents, Paul and Patricia Horrigan, his sister Susan Horrigan, niece Brigid Lynch and her husband Conal and niece Ciara Regan and her husband Ciaran. Sean was predeceased by his younger brother, Timothy Paul Horrigan, who passed away on February 19, 1990.
Calling hours will be held at the Lucas & Eaton Funeral Home, 91 Long Sands Rd., York, Maine on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., with a prayer service to be conducted by Father Mower.
There will be a funeral Mass celebrated at St. Luke’s Church in Westborough, Massachusetts on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 10:30 a.m., followed by a burial service in St. Luke’s Cemetery.
