Shirley (Wray) White, 88, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2022, surrounded by her loving family. She is the beloved wife to the late Norman White.
Born in Clinton, she was the only child of the late Harold and Lawrene (Sorenson) Wray, and was raised and educated in Millbury. She was a graduate of Millbury High School Class of 1952.
Prior to retirement, she was the travel coordinator for the friends of Worcester Senior Center where she enjoyed 15 wonderful years and made many friends.
Shirley was a long time volunteer of various senior centers in the area, one being named volunteer of the year in Worcester. She was a past member of Networking Women, Westboro Chamber of Commerce, Westboro Women’s Club, Westboro Grange, and she also volunteered with the Westboro Rotary Club, Easter Seals, and the Red Cross.
She is survived by her son, Gary White, her step-sons, Bruce, Steve, and John White and their families, all of Westboro, and her close family friends the Robert Frem family of Northborough.
Her funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday, November 2, in the First United Methodist Church, 120 W. Main St. Westborough. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clinton.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 PM on Tuesday, November 1, in the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 W. Main St. Westborough.
