WESTBOROUGH

Sue Rosa Mueller, affectionately known as Grandma Sue, passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 25, 2025, in Westborough, Massachusetts. Born on April 3, 1929, in Indiana, she lived a life rich in love, knowledge, and service.

Sue taught mathematics, French and Spanish for over 30 years in high schools across Indiana and mathematics later at Montana State University in Billings, Montana. Her commitment to education was bolstered by her own academic achievements, having earned a Master's degree in Mathematics from Indiana State University. Colleagues and students alike remembered her not only for her intelligence but also for her kindness, creating an inclusive environment where students thrived.

Beyond the classroom, Sue's creativity blossomed in her personal life. She lovingly made beautiful afghans and Christmas stockings for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Sue was a caring mother to her daughter, Katherine Ng (spouse: Ronald), and her son, Dennis Eggers (Mary), as well as to her stepson, Craig Mueller (Betsy) and family. She found joy being surrounded by her grandchildren and their spouses: Michelle Ng and Chris Almada, Andrew and Kristen Sparks, Jennifer and Paul Kravitz, Sarah and David Kubiak, Christina and Matthew Rosi, and Heather and Hakan Ceylan. Her great-grandchildren: Elise and Maisie Kravitz, Melody and Isaac Johnson, June, Nora and Henry Kubiak, Angelina and Cameron Rosi, Katherine, Andrew, and William Sparks, Arda and Aydin Ceylan, were a source of constant joy and inspiration for her.

In addition to her professional career, Sue contributed many hours of her time volunteering at the Billings Clinic Hospital, Billings Public Library, and Grace United Methodist Church.  These efforts reflected her generous spirit and commitment to enhancing the lives of those around her.

Sue is preceded in death by her husband John, "the love of her life", and sisters Betty Trees and Janet Rexroat. She leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and intellectual curiosity that will be cherished by her family and remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her impact on her family, her students and the community will continue to resonate for years to come.

A Celebration of Life will take place this Spring at the First United Methodist Church, 120 West Main St., Westborough, MA.
