Susanna L. Hitchings

Susanna L. (Salsman) Hitchings, 86, passed away on Saturday, January 6, 2024, peacefully at home surrounded by her family.  She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Clement E. Hitchings, who passed away in 1998.,

Born in Westborough, she was the daughter of the late Eldon M. and Lois E. (Nichols) Salsman.  She was raised in Westborough and Winchendon, graduating from Westborough High School in 1954.

After high school, she married the love of her life, settling down in Westborough and started a family.  Sue had two good friends, Brenda, and Nancy, with whom she spent a lot of time with, especially on Wednesday evenings when they went to Bingo.

Sue is survived by her six sons, Timothy F. and his wife Mauren of Plainsboro NJ, Douglas A. and his wife Susan of Franklin ME, Donald A. and his husband Michel of Island of Paros, Greece, Jeffrey E. of Westborough, Daniel B. and his wife Tina of Hubbardston, and Peter D. and his wife Lisa of Oxford; two sisters, Vivian I. Wentworth and her husband Lester of Thompson CT, Laura E. Morrill of Southbridge and one brother, Paul M. Salsman and his wife Lynne McGrath of Framingham.  She is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, Eldon M. Salsman, Jr.

Her funeral will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 16 at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
