January 11, 1943 — June 14, 2021

WESTBOROUGH

Thomas F. Flahive (78) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 14, 2021 after a long and courageous battle with Mesothelioma.

He leaves his loving wife of 59 years Eileen (Dunne), three children Susan L. DiVita, and her husband Michael of San Jose, CA, Daniel F. Flahive, and his wife Melissa of Westborough and Mary S. Manuelian, and her husband Mark of Westborough.  He was “Buppa” to seven grandchildren, Benjamin Kosh, Samuel Manuelian, Nicholas, Jessica, Victoria, Carly and Kevin Flahive.

Born in New York City in 1943, he was the son of the late Thomas and Mary (McDonald) Flahive.  He was raised in Westborough where he graduated from Westborough High School in 1961.

Tom was a member of the International Union of Elevator Constructors Local #4 for 39 years.  He spent the majority of his 39 years working for F.S. Payne Company, retiring in 2001.

Tom loved summers on the Cape, winters in Florida, wood carving, storytelling and his cherished dog, Annie.  As a friend of Bill’s for 49 years, acceptance, attitude, and faith were the guiding principles in his life. Tom looked forward to weekly Patriot’s games, spending time with family, and a good meal. He gave more than he took and was always grateful for the life he had; Tom’s generosity extended to family, friends, and strangers alike. He loved to laugh, play practical jokes, and more than anything else, he loved his wife, children and grandchildren.  He will be missed dearly by his family and friends.
