Thomas P. Howard

Thomas P. Howard, 68, of Sutton MA, passed away on Saturday August 10th, with his family by his side. Born on June 9th,1956 in Buffalo New York, Tom was the son of the late Joseph Howard and Maryann (Malik) Howard. He grew up in Cheektowaga NY, known to many as “Howie”.  Tom graduated from John F. Kennedy Senior High School Class of 1974. He went on to Erie Community College to study Mechanical Engineering before moving to Massachusetts in 1985.  Tom recently retired after 35 years of employment as a leader lineman at Eversource. Tom was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, camping, hunting, fishing, birdwatching and anything nature related.  If he was not enjoying peace and quiet at his cabin in New York, he was proudly cheering on his grandchildren at their games.

Tom is survived by his children, Hollie  (Howard) Barter and her partner David Buttry, of Westborough MA and Craig Howard, of Whitesville NY; sister, Bernadette ( Bonnie) Schmitt (Howard), of Sutton MA; grandchildren Jack and Lilian (Lily) Barter of Westborough MA, Nolan and Nora Howard, of Cheektowaga NY; former wife and mother of his children, Amy (Majchrowicz) Brehm, of Homassassa FL, former son-in law John(Jack) Barter, of Westborough MA. Tom was predeceased by his sister, Lorraine (Lorrie) Howard, of Concord NH. Tom will be missed by many other extended family members and friends who were important to him.

Calling hours will be held from 5 P.M to 7 P.M on August 26th at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main Street, Westborough MA 01581.

Tom and his family are also grateful for the care he received from everyone at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
