WESTBOROUGH- Thomas J. Kelley, Jr., 85, of Westborough, passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at Marlborough Hospital. He was the husband of the late Kaye I. (Cochrane) Kelley.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Thomas and Helen (Ledin) Kelley. He was educated in Westborough and was a 1948 graduate of Westborough High School. He also attended and graduated from Worcester Junior College.
During the Korean Conflict he served with the United States Army attaining the rank of Corporal.
Tom was employed as a Quality Control Inspector at Bullard Abrasives for many years prior to his retirement. Following his retirement he worked for the Westborough Public Schools as a crossing guard.
He was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was also a longtime member of the Westborough Community Chorus.
Tom is survived by one nephew, James Kelley and his wife, Cheryl, of Upton; three nieces, Tina MacConnell and her husband, Jon, of Hopkinton, JoAnn Dwyer and her husband, Tom, of Westborough and Charlene Slocum and her husband, Brad, of Canton. He is also survived by several grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was the brother of the late Charles R. Kelley.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff at Whitney Suites and the ICU of Marlborough Hospital.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 7, 10:30 A.M. at St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main Street, Westborough. Burial, with Military Honors, will follow at St. Luke’s Cemetery.
A calling hour will be held on Wednesday from 9 to 10 A.M. at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main Street, Westborough, prior to the funeral Mass.
