Viola M. Nachorski. 95, of Westborough, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 3, 2014 at home with her family by her side. She was the wife of the late Chester Nachorski.
Born in Worcester, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Paulina (Bajko) Samko. She was educated in Vilnius, Lithuania and returned to Worcester at the age of 18.
Viola was employed as the head seamstress for Don Frederick Sportswear for 20 years prior to her retirement, and was previously part owner of Eleanor Sportswear.
She was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church in Westborough and formerly at Our Lady of Czestochowa. She was a volunteer at the Worcester Senior Center and volunteered over 6,000 hours for the St. Vincent Hospital Guild. She obtained her drivers license at the young age of 69 and enjoyed spending summers on Martha’s Vineyard, where in the summer of 2013 she celebrated 50 years of cherished memories.
Viola is survived by her two daughters, Eleanor Kowalchek and her husband, Peter, of Avon, CT and Diane Maguire and her husband, John, of Westborough; one sister, Felcia, of Vilnius, Lithuania; four grandchildren, Sandy Kowalchek, Scott Kowalchek and his wife, Nichola, Lauren Maguire and Johnny Maguire and two great-grandchildren, Kira and Britain Kowalchek.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, April 7, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
Calling hours at the Rand-Harper-Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, are Sunday, April 6, from 2 to 4 P.M.
