HOPKINTON- Wilbert D. Greenlaw, 92, formerly of Hopkinton and Westwood, passed away on Wednesday, October 24, 2018. He was the beloved husband of 68 years to Ann P. (Hosmer) Greenlaw.
Born in E. Providence, RI, he was the son of the late Harold and Lucina (Herrick) Greenlaw. He was a graduate of Belmont High School and graduated from Dartmouth College, Thayer School of Engineering. He also received an MBA from Boston University.
Wilbert had a long and distinguished career with Crosby, Valve & Gage Company where he was a principal and served as the Vice President of Engineering. He held several patents. Early in his career he worked on the power plants for the first nuclear submarines and went on to become an international expert in nuclear valves and represented the United States on international nuclear code work.
He resided in Hopkinton for 30 years after raising his children in Westwood. He traveled extensively around the world and enjoyed summers at his home on Lake Winnipesaukee in New Hampshire.
In addition to his wife he is survived by four children, Douglass C. Greenlaw of Naples, FL, David P. Greenlaw and his wife, Donna, of Litchfield, NH, Betsy L. Keegan and her husband, James, of North Attleborough and Lucy A. Lucier and her husband, Richard, of Westborough; one brother, Robert Greenlaw of Framingham; eleven grandchildren, Christopher Greenlaw, Melissa Goff, Sean Greenlaw, Jimmy Keegan, Chad Greenlaw, Erin Keegan, Adam Greenlaw, Sarah Khan, Megan Lucier, Elizabeth Keegan and Amanda Lucier and seven great-grandchildren.
He is predeceased by his sister Eleanor Parslow, and his daughter-in-law Jane Greenlaw.
Services and interment will be private.
