William F. Glennon, Jr., 88, of Westborough, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Center. He was the husband of Winifred M. (Walsh) Glennon.
Born in Boston, he was the son of the late William and Julia (Powers) Glennon. He was educated in Boston schools and was a graduate of Boston Latin High School.
During WW II he served with the United States Army. Following his military service he attended and graduated from Clark University majoring in Business and History.
Following college Bill was employed as a purchasing agent for General Electric. He then worked as a manufacturers representative and in later years was the president of Tech Art Plastics based out of Morristown, NJ.
He was a communicant of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, where he was a former CCD teacher and usher. He was a member of Council #85, Knights of Columbus and the Sodality of Holy Cross. He was also a former little league and hockey coach.
In addition to his wife he is survived by four sons, William F. Glennon, III, and his wife, Susie, of Pembroke Pines, FL, Thomas P. Glennon of Milford, Paul J. Glennon of Northborough and Mark J. Glennon of Westborough; one brother, John P. Glennon and his wife, Ann, of Alexandria, VA and five grandchildren, Ryan Glennon, Meghan Glennon, Daniel Glennon, Katelyn Glennon and Erle Porter.
His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 6, at 10:30 A.M. in St. Luke the Evangelist Church, 70 West Main St., Westborough. Burial in St. Luke’s Cemetery will be at a later date.
Calling hours at the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough, are Sunday, July 5, from 4 to 6 P.M.
