William D. McGrath, 63, of Auburn, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, December 18, 2016 at St. Vincent Hospital, Worcester after being stricken ill at home.
Born in Natick, he was the son of the late James T. and Barbara A. (Pew) McGrath. He was raised in Westborough and was a 1971 graduate of Westborough High School. He also attended and graduated from Westfield State College.
Bill was employed as a Corporate Service Planner for Bose Corporation. He was an avid golfer and previously enjoyed playing soccer.
Everyone that came in contact with Bill became an instant friend and his personality, sharp wit, kind spirit, generosity and sense of humor will always be remembered.
Bill is survived by his fiancé, Mary Jane Foley of Auburn, two brothers, Thomas McGrath and his wife, Terri, of Mendon and Robert McGrath and his wife, Ree, of Milford; three sisters, Frances Tomlin and her husband, Ben, of Ft. Myers, FL, Patricia Garver and her husband, Melvin, of VA and Jean Hendrix and her husband, Stephen, of Westborough; his fiancé’s children, Brendan, Kathleen, Kellie, Molly, Aidan and Kevin Foley-Foster all of Auburn and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late James McGrath who passed away in January of this year.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours at the David A. Pickering Westborough Funeral Home, 62 West Main St., Westborough, on Friday, December 23, from 3 to 6 P.M.
Services and burial will be private.
