William A. Murphy

WESTBOROUGH- William A. Murphy, 73, of Westborough, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Center in Westborough.

Born in Somerville, he was the son of the late Herbert and Ruth (Czar) Murphy and was educated in Nebraska.

During the Korean Conflict he served with the United States Navy.

Mr. Murphy was employed as a fire inspector at Harvard University in Cambridge for over 30 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Erin E. Murphy and her husband, Keith Baldinger, of Shrewsbury; two sons, Steven K. Murphy and his wife, Debra, of Westborough and Ryan C. Murphy of Northbridge; two grandchildren, Mackenzie and Malorie Baldinger and four brothers and seven sisters.

A graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, February 17, at 11:30 A.M. in the Veterans Grove Section of Pine Grove Cemetery, Westborough. Burial, with military honors, will follow.

Calling hours at the Britton-Summers Funeral Home, 4 Church St., Westborough, are Thursday, February 16, from 5 to 7 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to any Veterans organization.
